The Classic Monstera, also known as the Swiss Cheese Plant, is a statement plant that every home needs! The name Swiss Cheese comes from the holes the leaves develop as they mature called fenestrations. They are thought to increase the surface area on the leaf which increases its ability to capture sunlight. They're also thought to help with heavy rainfall as the rain can pass through the leaf and limits damage to the plant.
